Social Media Campaign Co-ordinator

Volunteer Role- 3 hours a week

Are you passionate about the environment, sustainable energy and fighting poverty in the developing world? Are you a savvy social networker? This is a fantastic opportunity to devise and run a social networking campaign using Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

You must be able to dedicate at least  three to three and a half hours a week to the campaign- ideally half an hour a day, with a minimum commitment of 6 months. You should be confident using Facebook and Twitter and uploading video content to Youtube.

The Social Media Coordinator will take responsibility for pushing out stories and videos that relate to climate change and renewable energy, or that are relevant to our projects. These can be topical, thought provoking or funny, but they must be engaging, the sort of links that the reader will “like,” re-tweet or email to a friend.

You should be passionate about green issues. Knowing about the types of renewable energy we use in our projects (solar, small wind, micro-hydro) is an advantage but not essential. You should be a great communicator, with plenty of fun, creative ideas on how to engage people through social networking, and the drive and initiative to see them through.

The work can be done from home but we are happy to meet you in London or cover your expenses for bi-monthly meetings in Brighton, with weekly progress updates over phone/email.

How to apply

Send your CV and a short covering letter explaining why you think you are suitable for this volunteer role to Jen at jen.glyn@renewable-world.org . The closing date for applications is Friday the 24th of September.
