London Triathlon Renewable Energy Cup

Where wind, wave and tidal meet blood sweat and gears

After the success of the first ever Renewable Energy Cup last year, Renewable World will take part once again in the world's biggest triathlon at London Excel Centre on 7th August 2010.

This time we will be raising money for Hydraulic Ram Pump in Nepal which will deliver water for household usage and irrigation, and other livelihood activities. The pump will replace the old method of collecting water manually from a distant source, and will improve health and sanitation. It will also increase economic growth by improving irrigation of fields, and increase crop production and extend the growing season and cultivatable land.

Last year, small wind turbine producers Quiet Revolution won the coveted title of fastest Renewable Energy team and Simon Peltenburg from Renewable Energy developer RES was crowned fastest Renewable Energy individual.

Over 60 atheletes from the Renewable Energy sector took part  in the event and raised over £8000 for Renewable World which was used to fund a solar lamp project in Uganda.

So if you think you've got what it takes to try this multi disciplinary sport and want to make a real difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in 2010 then sign up now!
